INFECTIOUS DISEASE TRACKER FAQ
Infectious Diseases Tracker (previously known as Hotspot Tracker) is one of the functions available in the MySejahtera application to track COVID-19 cases in Malaysia. Now, the function has been enhanced to include more infectious diseases, namely (1) dengue fever, (2) rabies, (3) measles, (4) hand-foot-mouth disease (HFMD), and (5) tuberculosis.
Infectious disease tracker locates new cases reported by district health offices and state health departments. The locations of these new reported cases are mapped to display the numbers of active cases around any selected search point without disclosing the patients’ exact coordinates. Hence, users will be able to see the number of active cases for each disease reported within the radius from their point of search.
The radius and duration of active cases of the diseases are as the following:
Radius for infectious disease is the detection area of all active cases from your point of search.
The duration of active cases for infectious disease is the time frame in which the disease is in their infectious period, hence, shown in the Infectious Disease Tracker. This duration varies from one disease to another.
Users can avoid high risk areas and take extra precautions whenever they are in these areas. Based on this information, high-risk individuals (children, elderly, immunocompromised) can avoid from going into areas with high number of active cases.
The community can arrange for cleaning campaign and alert each other by conveying the information to their social circle (e.g., WhatsApp group, Telegram channel, Facebook group etc) especially during social and religious gatherings.
Users may refer to the following links for more information about each of the infectious diseases:
